21st Century Skills implementation progress examined at GPE report

Nowadays issues of building and developing 21 Century Skills receive increasing attention from education community around the world. Global Partnership for Education (GPE), one of the leading international funds for education development aid, has set a goal to examine global practice of development of mentioned competencies among children and youth and create a support program for developing countries to address this subject.

The outcomes of this work are presented in a report “21st century skills: What potential role for the Global Partnership for Education”? The major finding of the research is that fund’s partner countries show expressed interest in 21 Century Skills, include them in education development programs and strategies but seldom or never schedule and undertake efforts intended to implement these skills to their education systems. GPE sees the solution to the problem in promoting this activity at debates on global educational policy along with providing financial and consultancy support to the states, striving to reform education sector regarding 21 Century Skills.
