In February, a regular meeting of the UN NGO Major Group was held, in which the experts of the Center are represented through the participation of the ECA-CES. The meeting discussed the submission to the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) of a Ministerial Declaration and Statement from civil society on the achievement of SDGs 4 (quality education), 5 (gender equality), 14 (oceans), 15 (well-being), and 17 (partnerships).
Major decisions of the meeting:
This year, DESA UN will develop a roadmap for engagement with the MGoS Coordinating Mechanism to identify steps to prepare for the HLPF.
Like last year, working groups will be created this year, each of which will work on a specific SDG. The Center will participate in the work of the working groups for SDG 4 and for SDG 17.
Work on the documents will take place during March-May 2022 online.
