The Center’s Work in UN Advisory Bodies

Since February 2024, experts from CIAM have continued to regularly participate in the work of the main group of UN non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The group aims to strengthen the engagement and involvement of NGOs in processes related to the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), both directly and indirectly. Each year, the group works to formulate positions on behalf of its members, which are then presented at various UN events. Given the diversity of views and opinions within the group, it is structured around thematic areas that serve as expert centers on various SDG-related issues. CIC serves as the unifying partner for NGOs from the Central Asian region.
The Group will be addressing the High-Level Policy Forum on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by delivering its policy document. This document is developed annually through the process of consolidating and reflecting on collective experience, as well as promoting knowledge and information related to various processes concerning the Agenda. Every year, the Group will organize a side event as part of the Forum and contribute to the Ministerial Declaration issued by UN member states. This declaration is also presented at the Forum.
The Group’s activities take place online.
